Our Accompanist:
Elinore Farnum

Elinore Farnum, C.A.G.O., organist, is a well-known Capital Region recitalist. She has studied organ with Dr. Elmer Tidmarsh, Helen Henshaw and Professor Hugh Allen Wilson, and piano with Jeanette Odasz. She has attended workshops at St. Dunston’s Theological Seminary and Eastman School of Music. Elinore is the organist and choir director at the First Presbyterian Church, Schenectady, organist at Congregation Gates of Heaven, accompanist for the Thursday Musical Club, the former organist for the Octavo Singers and has accompanied the Union College Choir both on campus and abroad.

During the summers of 1996 and 1998, she toured England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales as accompanist for members of the Octavo Singers and presented organ performances in St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Dublin, Ireland, St. James’s Church in Edinburgh, Scotland, and at Durham Cathedral in Durham, England. She has toured England with the Union College Chamber Singers. Elinore is a member of the New York State Music Teacher’s Association, and is on the Board of Directors of the American Guild of Organists, where, upon examination, she received qualifications as a “Colleague of the American Guild of Organists.” She teaches both piano and organ.
